02-03-12: Meet Carlton! This super sweet middle-aged fellow spent a very long time in a county shelter. The shelter staff loved him so much, they held him as long as they could until a rescue could be found. Sadly, Carlton tested positive for heartworm so he will have to undergo the toxic treatment to save his life. Please, give your dogs heartworm prevention.....this fatal disease is so preventable! Carlton will spend the next 3 months going through treatment. It will be hard on him but he is such a sweet, mello fellow that we will do everything we can to make sure his recovery is as comfortable as possible.
