As a primary commodity knowledge resource of Accenture BPO Spend Management Services, aCategory Leadwill apply commodity knowledge to support sourcing project execution and sourcing consulting services to enhance the value we provide to our customers. They are responsible for working with the client to execute sourcing solutions to drive down forecasted spend for the customer, and provide vendor performance and contract management. A Category Lead is also responsible for people management, development, and coaching.
Key responsibilities:

Monitors and provides guidance on procurement process for categories under management
*
Designs and implements contract management and communications, including processes for supplier capabilities, market and financial position
*
Establishes, maintains and manages relationship between customer and supplier
*
Implements and supports enforcement of buying and contracting processes
*
Define and manage contractual and supplier relationships
*
Effectively raises issues/concerns before they arise and present options for resolution
*
Owns, manages and updates Category Cards
*
Manages spot buying
*
Monitors category trends and conduct market research as needed
*
Designs supplier and user compliance management program, recommend policies and procedures as well as implementation and performance tracking program
*
Establishes metrics (Spend/Saving Tracker, KPI's, SLA's, etc.), monitor and report on supplier performance and compliance
*
Defines accountabilities for compliance tracking, analysis, and reporting, and customer participation
*
Performs operational review of contract performance and spending for categories
*
Reviews operational results and identify opportunities for process changes and additional spend savings
*
Refines current sourcing strategy and recommend suggestions for improvement
*
Defines sourcing (buying) and contracting process, recommend to and obtain approval from the Accenture customer
*
Formulates procurement and category-specific policies and lead implementation
*
Partners with the Global Category Directors to develop and execute category strategy
*
Analyzes spend
*
Develops new product/service specifications in cooperation with Accenture client
*
Builds and manages baseline (spend, requisition/PO process, supplier/user behavior and procurement practices) data, using external expertise as needed
*
Develops sourcing strategy for customer approval
*
Defines sourcing and contracting process for customer approval
*
Develops supplier evaluation and selection criteria as part of agreed procurement strategy
*
Identifies and evaluates incumbent and potential suppliers by applying established evaluation and selection criteria
*
Negotiates or renegotiates with suppliers
*
Works with delivery lead to ensure that procurement services are delivered in accordance with contractual/service level obligations
*
Ensures that procurement services are provided within forecast budgets and timescales and takes actions necessary to address any issues
*
Ensures that procurement services are delivered in accordance to delivery factory standards
*
Identifies opportunities to improve or enhance service delivery
*
Provides input to Accenture best practices
*
Develops and coaches team/direct reports
Travel requirement:
* Ability to travel up to or more than 80% of the time
Basic Qualifications:
* Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a professional services firm or industry
* Bachelor's degree
* Minimum of 7 years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, specifically in Facilities Management / Real Estate Lease Agreements
* Minimum of 3 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* MBA preferred
* Indirect/Services procurement background
* Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong customer service focus
* Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
* Ability to lead, motivate and support bigger vision with team members
* Ability to work in ambiguous situations and be a part of creating and defining requirements for successful delivery
* Strong Client presence
* Ability to work in a shared service model requiring collaboration and team work
* Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
* Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
