In xxxx, UTC Aerospace Systems was formed by combining two industry leaders, Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich, creating an organization with key positions on a wide range of aircraft flying today and substantial content on various UAVs, satellites and ground and naval vehicles.
Individual will be responsible coordinating UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) Self-assessment (SA) program for International Trade Compliance. Individual will manage creation of auditable standard work regarding export controls throughout UTAS. Individual will work in a Compliance oriented team to design a comprehensive strategy for deriving metrics and lean compliant, best in class control programs.
Hold weekly team meetings with all SBU managers and staff to verify compliance and progress throughout the SA program schedule;
Submission of ITAR required reports of quarterly and semi-annual nature;
Utilization of advanced IT solutions for compliance;
Manage Risk Focused self-assessment program;
Mapping of UTAS processes and procedures to identify gaps and potential vulnerabilities;
Brief executives as to monthly status and progress towards completion;
Consistent tracking of turn backs and efficient use of low cost resources;
Support feedback loop from the Self-Assessment program to Voluntary Disclosures, Corrective Actions and liaise appropriately with other members of the ITC function Reporting to executive management all significant open matters and voluntary disclosures discovered during SA process;
Position requires a minimum of a Bachelor(`9s Degree, however, Graduate degree is preferred.
Strong writing and communication skills required.
Must have at least 5 years trade compliance experience, preferably in the aerospace industry
Expert level knowledge of US import and export regulations.
Automated trade compliance software systems experience.
Capability to deal with trade compliance programs in US manufacturing companies and manage challenges effectively with minimal to no supervision and guidance
Capability to work with overseas operations and ensure that policies and procedures work effectively on a global scale.
Strong ability to create metric driven reports and PowerPoint presentations

UTC Aerospace Systems will be the largest global supplier of technologically advanced aerospace products and will design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs.
This position will be located in Charlotte, NC. All candidates should have substantial experience with the ITAR, EAR and Customs regulations and the ability to work in a complex and fast moving environment with multiple international partners and foreign nationals. This position will require access to ITAR and EAR controlled data. Qualified applicants must be US persons (US Citizens, Green Card Holders or refugee/asylees).
