Title: Review Appraiser Location: NC-Charlotte Other Locations: Performs moderately complex internal real estate appraisal reviews and property ratings for 1 - 4 family properties for compliance with corporate policy and standards, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Agency Guidelines, document the results related to value challenges and over valuation concerns. - Maintains database of information that is used in various appraisal management and quality control reporting. - Must be familiar with a variety of the field''s concepts, practices, and procedures. - Analyzes the reasonableness of the appraisals to accurately estimate the market value for financing purposes as well as asset purchases. - Adheres to bank policies and procedures and complies with legal and regulatory requirements. - Follows, or in some cases establishes, as required, effective controls and processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored and controlled and compliance requirements are adhered to on an on-going basis. - Keeps abreast of risk-related changes that may impact assigned work functions and processes. - Coaches and/or counsels underwriters, loan processors, portfolio, loan officers and others regarding appraisal concepts and processes. - Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. (Encompasses all of the bank's residential lending.) - Perform discretionary appraisal reviews to ensure that all appraisers are reviewed as time allows. - Responds to inquiries from production staff, underwriters and members of senior management regarding review decisions in order to resolve appraisal disputes/concerns as well as determining if the adjustment percentages are within policy. - Required completion of formal appraisal training through professional and nationally recognized appraiser's organization that is a member of the Appraisal Foundation. - Annual completion of CE Credits to maintain certification. - Bachelor Degree required, Concentration in Business, Real Estate, Finance or Economics - Real Estate Appraisal - 10 years of progressive professional appraisal experience and skill in land and building valuation using the three approaches to value. - Real Estate Appraisal Review - 3 years experience reviewing residential 1-4 family real estate, on a nationwide basis is preferred to ensure compliance with USPAP and federal regulatory agencies. - State Certified Residential Appraiser License - Knowledge of all types of real property, terms, types of ownership in real estate, deeds, mortgages, etc. - Ability to recognize deficiencies in appraisal reports and changes in market trends and conditions - Able to multitask with effective and proficient communication skills. - Proficient with with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc. - Strong analytic skills and attention to detail.
