Looking for room
I am looking for a room in Charlotte, $350 - $550 price range, sharing a bathroom not a problem. The main thing I seek is a place that is quiet. I don't mind train or highway noise that much - but I do need a place to work (can be bedroom) where I don't hear music or talking. When I'm at home, I will probably mostly be reading or quietly working on the computer. I can agree to wear headphones when listening to music / watching movies if that helps the living situation. I do like to keep public areas clean (this is particularly important; but I also like to keep my room clean). But I do not insist on meticulous cleanliness; I can keep up with basic cleaning of a bathroom daily, but also don't mind if we agree to do it weekly. I do like a living situation where all clean up after themselves in the kitchen, this I find important. I am most certainly a sociable person, and like a good conversation. Most people think I'm an extrovert - but I'm more of an "ambivert" - very outgoing, but then also needing a lot of time to myself. Luxury is not important to me at all - if you have a place that is very basic, even with walls or floor looking very "lived in" - I do not mind walls that haven't been painted in ages, or a floor that looks like it should have been replaced decades ago - as long as it isn't dirty or smelly. There's a big difference between looking clean, and being clean. If you have a place without a kitchen, or even a dry basement with walls that aren't drywalled yet - there's a good chance I'd be fine with that. I am not looking for a place for a photo op for Better Homes and Gardens. I can do fine with some hotplates and a large toaster oven that I can provide myself. If you happen to have a space that you think isn't rentable, but is rather large - more than 10' x 14' - let me know, I might just rent it. A porch for me is a big, big plus, almost a must. I spend a lot of time quietly thinking on the porch.
